GL Accountant

On behalf of our client, one of the world's largest wind turbine manufacturers the Nordex Group, we are in search of a motivated candidate to successfully fill the position of GL Accountant.Job description:
- Monitor electronic review and approval workflows
- Participate in the preparation of cash forecast in coordination with the Controlling team
- Drive continuous improvement of technical accounting processes and contribute to related projects
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual) for region (currently covering Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro), in accordance with local GAAP, IFRS, and Nordex Group policies
- Compile monthly IFRS reporting packages for group consolidation (currently using SAP SEM-BCS)
- Post and monitor provisions and accruals
- Provide professional guidance to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams
- Collaborate on special projects as needed, primarily SAP implementation
- Document and enhance existing accounting processes; support the design and implementation of new processes
- Serve as a point of contact for auditors and external advisors
- Contribute to tax-related projects, such as the implementation of new transfer pricing guidelines
- Monitor changes in local legislation, develop internal guidelines, and implement new regulatory requirements
- Assist in the preparation of the commercial balance sheet
- Facilitate cross-departmental communication and support entities across the sub-region
- Oversee external accounting firms and monitor through KPIs
- A university degree or higher education completed
- Minimum 8 years of previous experience in accounting
- Knowledge of SAP is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of English desirable, but not mandatory
