The Product Planning role is responsible for defining product strategy, identifying market opportunities, planning product roadmaps, and ensuring the successful development and launch of products. This position acts as a strategic bridge between customers, sales, marketing, engineering, and production teams to deliver competitive and profitable products.
Description
Market Research & Opportunity Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscapes
- Analyze market data to evaluate potential opportunities and risks
- Translate insights into new product concepts or enhancement ideas
- Benchmark competitors’ products and pricing to maintain competitiveness
Product Strategy & Roadmap Planning- Develop mid-to-long-term product strategies aligned with company goals
- Create and manage product roadmaps, prioritizing features and timelines
- Define product positioning, target segments, and value propositions
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to align product strategy with market expectations
Product Definition & Requirements Management- Create product requirement documents (PRD) and feature specifications
- Work closely with Engineering / R&D to ensure technical feasibility
- Balance cost, quality, performance, and timeline requirements
- Manage change requests and revisions throughout the development cycle
Product Launch & Lifecycle Management- Support launch planning, including pricing, documentation, and sales tools
- Coordinate with Marketing on promotional plans and messaging
- Track product performance and customer feedback after launch
- Provide recommendations for product improvements, cost-down activities, or end-of-life decisions
Requirements
- University degree, preferably in Economics, Engineering, Management, or related fields.
- Experience in (tire) product planning, product management, marketing, or business analysis
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to translate market needs into clear product requirements
- Strong communication and coordination skills across departments
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, BI tools)
- Experience with project management or product development processes
- Experience in tire, automotive, or consumer goods (depending on company)
- Knowledge of design thinking or product development methodologies
- Understanding of engineering concepts or technology trends
- Experience working with cross-border or global teams
- Strong presentation and strategic planning skills
