Description
As a Field Service Engineer, you will serve as the technical link between project management, installation teams, subcontractors, and customers during the installation of hydropower equipment. You will provide technical guidance, coordinate field activities, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and according to the highest quality standards.
- Provide technical support and engineering guidance to field installation teams.
- Prepare and maintain work packages, installation procedures, technical documentation, and control sheets for site activities.
- Plan and coordinate field service schedules in collaboration with project teams and customers.
- Identify project risks and opportunities and proactively communicate them to the project team.
- Prepare technical specifications, work instructions, and scope of work for installation subcontractors.
- Review and evaluate installation bids and subcontractor proposals.
- Coordinate technical clarifications with customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in design review meetings and ensure field installation requirements are incorporated into project designs.
- Ensure project-specific Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), quality plans, and safety documentation are available and implemented.
- Develop project-specific installation procedures and risk assessments.
- Determine site layouts, tooling requirements, lifting concepts, and site infrastructure needs.
- Monitor project progress, quality, schedule, and costs while supporting corrective actions when necessary.
- Coordinate internal and external resources required for successful project execution.
- Maintain close collaboration between field teams and back-office engineering and project management.
Requirements
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience working with rotating equipment such as turbines, generators, or balance-of-plant equipment.
- Proven experience in project coordination, scheduling, and subcontractor management.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, project schedules, and budgets.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary international teams.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience with SAP and Primavera P6 is considered a strong advantage.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Solid Edge, or similar engineering software is desirable.
- Professional working proficiency in English. Additional languages are considered an advantage.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work on customer sites.
