Description
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the commissioning, testing, and start-up of hydropower equipment at customer sites worldwide. Working closely with international project teams and customers, you will ensure that equipment is installed, tested, and operating safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning activities for hydro-mechanical and electromechanical equipment.
- Commission and test turbines, generators, governors, auxiliary systems, and related plant
- equipment.
- Perform functional testing, system checks, and performance tests in accordance with technical
- specifications and project schedules.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during commissioning and start-up.
- Coordinate commissioning activities with customers, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary
- project teams.
- Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, and environmental standards on site.
- Prepare commissioning reports, test protocols, and technical documentation.
- Support customer training and participate in final project handovers.
- Provide technical support during warranty and service assignments when required.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical qualification.
- Several years of experience in commissioning, field service, or start-up of hydropower plants or heavy rotating equipment.
- Strong technical understanding of hydro turbine systems, generators, and power plant interfaces.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with international multidisciplinary
- teams.
- Customer-oriented mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work on construction sites, including short-notice assignments.
- Professional working proficiency in English. Additional languages are considered an advantage.
