On behalf of our client Insicon, a Swedish vendor of state-of-the-art IT insurance product for the financial sector with clients in the Nordic region, we are currently looking for an experienced professional to take the role of a Database Engineer

Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join Insicon's Belgrade-based product development team. In this mid/senior role, you will work as a database engineer on Agile/SCRUM projects, independently managing your tasks while collaborating closely with teams across development, testing, and architecture. Your focus will be on designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable database solutions using the latest Microsoft technologies for large-scale clients. You’ll tackle a variety of tasks, including optimizing complex queries, managing data integrity, performance tuning, and supporting data-driven features. Responsibilities:

Participate in various projects and development groups
Design, implement, and maintain efficient and scalable database solutions, including stored procedures, views, and functions
Support performance tuning, query optimization, and monitoring to ensure database health and responsiveness
Ensure data integrity, security, and availability across development and production environments
Collaborate with development teams to support the integration of data-driven features and ensure alignment with business requirements
Assist in planning and executing data migrations, upgrades, and deployment scripts
Share best practices, contribute to internal documentation, and actively participate in knowledge-sharing across the database engineering community of practice

Requirements

5+ years of experience in Database operations (Must-have):

Experience with MS SQL Server
Experience with Database development/BI and OLTP development
Experience with TSQL
Experience with Azure Cloud/ Azure SQL
Docker Knowledge
Knowledge in C# Core
Comprehensive understanding of the SDLC.

Experience with services (Basic Knowledge):

SSIS – Integration services
SSRS - SQL Reporting Services
SSAS - SQL Analysis server
Angular

Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is plus
Ability to analyze high-level requirements and translate them into work.
Self-driven with strong initiative, structured thinking, and a commitment to quality, agreements, and deadlines.
Team-oriented and capable of independent work, with the ability to support team members.
Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
HA (Cluster, Always-on) and Replication (Is a plus)
